The Art of Public Health

Synecdoche is an educational art magazine focusing on topics of public health. The idea for this project was born out of the desire to utilize the arts to make public health more accessible to all — not just those specializing in public health research. From the beginning, I was immediately inspired by the idea of extending art beyond the arts community to enrich and educate the public in vital, scientific topics. So, although I had no experience in public health studies, I joined the inaugural team of biology and public health majors as their resident artist. As this project materialized, I took on the role as the pioneering Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief. My accomplishments include:

  • Developed the magazine’s creative strategy and brand identity;

  • Designed the Synecdoche logo;

  • Created the website and optimized the SEO;

  • Designed and copyedited the first issue of the magazine.
